Departing from Tromsø, your journey begins with a comfortable hotel pick-up by a trained local guide driving a luxury Mercedes V‑Class. Our small-group format—capped at 15 guests—ensures personalized attention and intimate exploration of Northern Norway’s coastal beauty.

Stunning Arctic Scenery

As you venture across Kvaløya, often called “Whale Island,” toward the Sommarøy archipelago, you’ll pass cascading fjords, charming fishing villages, and rugged Arctic shorelines. Upon arrival at a scenic coastal spot, swap your day gear for a cosy thermal suit and settle around a campfire. Here, under the glow of the Midnight Sun, we serve hot drinks—tea, coffee, hot chocolate—and light snacks, all accompanied by storytelling rooted in Sámi and Norwegian heritage.

During our break at the top you can rest and refuel with lunch and snacks. After accomplishing our mission of making Arctic memories, we will drive you safely back to your hotel and send your photos to you in a digital album.

Senja, Norway’s second-largest island, boasts a rich history rooted in its natural resources and strategic location. Inhabited for thousands of years, evidence of early human activity on Senja dates back to the Stone Age, with communities drawn to the island’s rich marine life. During the Viking Age (800–1066 AD), Senja became an important hub along the coastal trade routes, where Norse communities thrived through fishing, farming, and trade.

The island also has deep ties to the indigenous Sami people, who have lived there for centuries, particularly in the inland regions. The Sami contributed to Senja’s cultural heritage, especially through reindeer herding and traditional crafts, which remain influential.

In the 19th century, Senja experienced population growth and economic development, driven by its flourishing fishing industry. The introduction of motorized boats and improved infrastructure in the 20th century modernized this sector, ensuring its continued importance.
